TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES ... BY EATING THE RIGHT THING

TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES ... BY EATING THE RIGHT THING
Since childhood, you have heard time and again that you have to eat fruit because it contains vitamin C and that it is good for you to grow well and stay healthy. But there are a variety of other vitamins and nutrients your body needs to work well.

But we just want to focus on the foods that are good for your eyes and eyesight.

All foods rich in  Vitamin A, C and E  are excellent as these nutrients contribute significantly to the onset of  cataract  (opacity of the eye lens) or  macular degeneration  (a retinal disease leading to the loss of central vision) delay. In addition, if you regularly eat foods that are  rich in Omega 3 and antioxidants  and protect against free radicals, you will  really pamper your eyes .

These nutrients are often present in green vegetables , but you can also find them in high concentration in the following foods on this non-exhaustive list:

•   Nuts-are rich in vitamin E, a handful on your salad or as a snack, nothing more!

•   Blueberries-help to improve night vision. For this reason, they are also found in dietary supplements that are recommended for eyesight. Blackberriescontain a lot of vitamins C and E as well as antioxidants. These fruits not only taste great, they are also good for your eyes.

•   Fish rich in-fat is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, so enjoy-mackerel,sardines, salmonandherringas you like.

•   Apples-that have accompanied us throughout the winter contain twice as many antioxidants than oranges. So bite into a crisp apple every day and do something good for your eyes!

Think of all these foods the next time you shop - your eyes will thank you!

I am a writer, my wife Denise is an editor. Recently struck down by a brain tumor, I am presently wheelchair bound. I search locations along the shore where I can fly fish Zihuatanejo Bay from the chair.
